Ethologist, Operations Manager and Sachika Cruise Director. My diving career started in the womb but it had a twist when I was 12 yo and my parents, both divers, allowed me to try scuba diving. My passion for the animals and the oceans accompanied me throughout my whole life. When I had to become an adult, I realized that my addiction was stronger than anything, so after studying hard ‘till getting my master degree in Ethology, I decided to transform my passion in my everyday life, working in the sea on my ‘home far away from home’: Sachika.
My addiction was stronger than anything

I look at the sea and I kind of understand it. I am not sure about what it wants to tell me but I feel we have a connection. I have been a captain for most of my life. The honor of being appointed ‘best dive guide of the Maldives’ made me understand that I still have so much to learn from the Ocean. I am keen to understand its mechanism day after day to reward my divers with the best diving experience of their life.
I still have so much to learn from the Ocean

My name is Asif, and I’m a passionate diver with over a decade of experience beneath the waves. I started diving in 2012, and since then, the ocean has become my second home.
People often describe me as friendly and kind. I’m always eager to learn, grow, and help others discover their own passion for the ocean. One of my favorite things to do is capture the beauty of marine life through underwater photography.
Scuba Diving is my everything!

I don’t remember the first time my parents threw me into the water, but I think it was clear from the start that it was my element.
From simple snorkeling on the reef to technical diving in caves and wrecks, the equipment may vary, but not that unique feeling of being part of such a beautiful environment.
The greatest satisfaction, as an instructor, is seeing students use your teachings to fully enjoy their own personal experience in the water, seeing in them the same enjoyment you feel.
Being part of such a beautiful environment

The sea has always felt like home to me—its calmness, its mystery, and the life beneath the surface inspire me every day.
Diving isn’t just a passion; it’s a way of connecting with nature, finding peace, and sharing that wonder with others.
My goal is to guide people safely into the underwater world and help them fall in love with it, just like I did.

I grew up in the northern heart of the Maldives where ocean was basically our playground.
After graduating from school I join a Maldives police services and I served in the police force for a few years.
Then I chose scuba diving as a full time career because I was fascinated by the underwater world. My favorite things to find in a dive are tiny crabs living in anemones, sponges and colourful corals. After I did my shark speciality course. Now I am interest to find shark. I always try to be patient.
I was a policeman but I prefer the sharks
My love for the sea began the moment I saw the vibrant coral reefs.
It was an enchanted world, and I knew I could never stay away.
The Maldives, with its incredible manta rays, holds a special place in my heart. Each encounter is deeply moving. My goal is to share this love, because every dive is a chance to connect and create lasting friendships.

In Top Class Cruising, we prioritize the individual importance of our guests and our crew. When we say “safety first”, we mean it! Safari boats and diving decks can be dangerous, it is well known!
That is why it is vital for us to prevent accidents from happening. We are very attentive when it comes to explaining safety procedures. We are always there, overviewing your actions, in neuralgic moments of our daily routine: preparation of the equipment, transfer by tender, movements between boats, divers pick up and so on.
Divers are trained to. Even though we believe in the common sense of all our clients and we know that recreational divers are trained to avoid hurtful scenarios, in case anything unpleasant happens! For diving emergencies, we are in constant contact with DAN experts and Hyperbaric doctors from the closest facilities.
Oxygen therapy is always available onboard and the majority of our crew knows how to provide it.
